HCMC: Selling used paper boxes at home with Veca
For customers’ convenience of recycling used-paper-boxes, Tetrapak collaborated with Veca to enlist paper boxes into the collection category of Veca’s app in smartphone.
Madam Ly Quynh Trang, TetraPak Vietnam’s Director of Sustainable Development, said: “Our purpose is to make after-used paper packagings of drinks collected everywhere such as families, schools, stores, and workplaces. This achievement will help us move very close to informing the paper-box-sorting culture in our community to protect the environment and natural resources. And applying digital technology in collecting is a key for us to make it.”
A seller uses Veca’s app to make an appointment for collecting waste
Veca app is available in Google Play and App Store with 20.000 users approximately. The application performs the same way as ride-hailing technology, who needs to sell will use the app to book a schedule for collecting waste materials (such as paper, plastics, metals, and paper boxes), and the app will match the requests with the nearest pickers.
Veca app connects sellers with pickers and pickers with scrap centers. Therefore, it benefits all sides in convenience and enhances the rate of recycled scraps. Veca is highly appreciated for its explicitness in collection as listing prices openly according to every local area, in order to keep sellers proactive in time and updated daily with scrap price list.
Madam Do Thi Minh Trang, Co-founder of Veca, said: “We’re on the way of perfecting Veca application, in which it is indispensible to expand the category of waste colletion on Veca. As people are growing in the habit of consuming milk and juice boxes, paper box is a rich recyclable source that has not been fully explored. Therefore, adding paper box into Veca’s collection list will be beneficial for recycling units, and also our environment.”
It starts on December 13th, 2021, Veca App will enlist paper box in its at-place collection menu
